The Shoalhaven River Festival invited Micro Galleries to launch their upcoming Micro Galleries (Nowra) at their local community festival. Over 20,000 people attended throughout the weekend. Featuring our core international artists, many of the works were interactive including Mim Golub’s Mail Art Project (for which she is still receiving art posted back to her in the USA from Nowra!) and Erlend Depine’s sound tour under the bridge can still be heard via QR codes. Chuck Scalin’s major work that plastered the plinths’ under the iconic Nowra bridge can sometimes be seen partly immersed under the water.
Artist and activist in exile, he is living and working in Paris since 2009. He gives educational lectures in the colleges and universities since 2010. Kianoush’s editorial cartoons appears regularly in Courrier International French magazine and other national and International media in France and other countries. He chose “Cartooning: The Art of Danger” for his TEDx talk in 2014, months before the Charlie Hebdo terrorist attack. He has been curating and directing International cartoon expos since 2011 in Europe [France, Sweden, Germany etc. ], and is the founder President of the United Sketches International Association supporting freedom of expression and Cartoonists in Exile.
Kat creatively leads the global arts initiative Micro Galleries, is a Director of Sydney alternative arts space, The Red Rattler, is an Advisor for French-based global arts initiative United Sketch Freedom, is co-founder and creative collaborator with arts collective Rue de la Rocket, was named as one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence for Culture, and was shortlisted for the University of Sydney Alumni Awards. Kat is currently based between Hong Kong and Australia, and works as an urban disruptor and creator of public art interventions that focus on positive social change.

From documenting tribal anthropology in Irian Jaya to Black & White photography on the Tibetan Plateau, Noel has created unique projects with exceptional film crews from Scotland to New York, Geneva & Tokyo, China & Thailand. “I highlight the human spirit and share the rich diversity of our world’s cultural identities in positive flows. A multi-disciplinary designer who likes colours and find beauty in most things.
Teacher of creativity, communication and self-discovery through Mail Art using various mediums, primarily collage. Collage is her medium, and the postal system is how she shares it.An active member of the International Union of Mail Artists, which connects her with people throughout the world.
